Playset & Swing Set Removal in Orange County

Old wooden playsets don’t age gracefully. Rotting wood, rusted hardware, and weathered surfaces make them a safety hazard long before they look like one. But taking one apart yourself is a full day’s work — and then you’ve got a pile of lumber to deal with.

OC Junk Haulers disassembles and hauls away old playsets, swing sets, and backyard play structures throughout Orange County. We bring the tools, do the work, and leave your yard clear.

What’s included:

  • Full disassembly of wood, metal, and plastic playsets
  • All materials hauled away — nothing left behind
  • Free on-site estimate before we start
  • Same-day and next-day availability
  • Yard left clean after removal
  • Anchors and hardware removed when accessible

Pressure-Treated Lumber in Old Playsets — What Parents Should Know

Playsets built before 2003 were commonly constructed with pressure-treated lumber containing chromated copper arsenate (CCA) — a preservative that includes arsenic. While the EPA phased out CCA-treated lumber for residential use starting in 2004, millions of older playsets still in use or being disposed of today may contain it.

CCA-treated wood cannot be burned and should not be disposed of in standard landfills in California. It requires handling through licensed facilities equipped to manage the arsenic content safely.

OC Junk Haulers identifies treated lumber during teardown and routes it to appropriate disposal channels. If your playset was installed before 2004, it’s worth getting it assessed — both for safe removal and for the safety of children using it in the meantime.
